Some team members will be with Tickd for years, others will use Tickd as a trampoline to move on to other things…the more we can talk about our personal goals openly in a work environment, the better it is for everybody. The more we understand, the more we can support each other to achieve these goals.

It’s easy for us to get some quotes from current employees but instead, we thought it was more authentic to ask a former employee to provide their thoughts on their experience at Tickd.

Arathay Ajayakumar is a former Junior Software Engineer at Tickd and used her experience to move on and get another role.

‘I joined Tickd in November 2021 as a Junior Software Developer. Even though I was very new to the energy industry, everyone at Tickd really helped me learn more about my role and how the business works. The working environment was comfortable, I could always ask questions and was allowed time to learn more in terms of coding and business.  The engineering team is small (6 when I was there) but made me feel supported.

The energy industry is dynamic, fast paced which means priorities change regularly. The support of the team allowed me to add value to the team very quickly. It wasn’t long before there were areas of the platform where I was the expert as I had worked on them most regularly.

After experiencing working in a tight knit small team, I wanted to experience a larger company. I am now working as a Software Engineer at ENSEK. Tickd was a great platform for my first steps into the working world and they were fully supportive of me to push on into a new role.’
